Quotation Analyis
Jackie Kennedy had many different opinions and beliefs. The one thing they all have in comment is how strongly she believed in each of them.
Her family was very important to her, she thought raising her children was important so she gave up her career to raise them. I chose this quote about family because I think it seems so fitting for everything about her. Most First Ladies stood in the background, looked pretty, and waved. They were good wives and mothers, but that was it. Kennedy was the first First Lady to change this. She was known for her iconic style, yet was still an amazing wife, mother, and so much more. She was a big reason that she became First Lady because she was a huge part of the success of her husband. She wrote a column named Campaign Wife, that became popular. She showed that she can be accomplished, but still be a fabulous mother.
She believed in her career as a reporter and writing columns because she wanted to do something big. She believed reporting would introduce her to new things, cultures, and people. Her career as a reporter led to a career as senior editor. She was able to balance her passions and career with her busy life, in order to create this legacy that she is known for to this very day.
I think that the quotation about empowerment shows how she held America together, after her husband's assassination. This quotation provides strength and courage, two qualities she definitely had, to people and, particularly, women. This quotation can provide inspiration and motivation to anybody and mean different things. For me, this means that no matter what is going wrong, you can make something go right. You can compose yourself and making things better, nobody can do it for you, so you are going to have to. No matter what, this quotation can apply to everybody at some point in their life!
